Where It All Began

One Truck. One Employee. One Opportunity.

In 1990, founder Brent Hudak Sr. made the decision to leave the security of working as a union tuck pointer to build a company of his own.

Armed with years of masonry experience, a strong work ethic, and his personal pickup truck, Brent set out to earn every opportunity through determination and quality workmanship.

This was long before websites, social media, smartphones, and online advertising. Business wasn't found with a click of a button. It was built through handshakes, conversations, and a reputation earned one customer at a time.

Brent spent countless hours making calls from a landline, introducing himself to local businesses, and building relationships throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania. Churches, colleges, and community institutions became some of his earliest customers, giving him the opportunity to demonstrate the quality and craftsmanship that would become the foundation of Hudak Waterproofing.

At the beginning, the company had just one employee: Brent himself.

Every completed project led to another recommendation. One satisfied customer became two. Two became ten. Over time, word spread throughout the community as property owners recognized the company's commitment to honest work and dependable results.

What started as one man working from his pickup truck steadily grew into a respected waterproofing and masonry restoration company employing nearly twenty skilled craftsmen.

Since 1990, Hudak Waterproofing has grown from a one-person operation into one of Northeastern Pennsylvania's trusted names in commercial waterproofing, masonry restoration, and exterior building preservation. While our team, capabilities, and projects have expanded over the years, the values that built this company remain exactly the same: do quality work, treat people honestly, and take pride in every project.

A New Generation With the Same Commitment

For Brent Hudak Jr., Hudak Waterproofing has never simply been a family business. It's been a way of life.

Growing up around construction sites, masonry restoration, and waterproofing projects, Brent learned early that quality craftsmanship isn't something you rush. It's something you earn through patience, discipline, and attention to detail.

After proudly serving our country in the United States Army at Fort Benning, Brent returned home with a renewed sense of purpose: to continue building the family legacy his father had worked so hard to establish.

His military experience reinforced values that have always been central to Hudak Waterproofing, including accountability, discipline, teamwork, and pride in every task.

Early in his career, Brent was mentored by a longtime family friend affectionately known as "Old Blue", or as Brent likes to call him, "The GOAT."

Old Blue taught Brent that every great craftsman starts with the fundamentals. Whether it was learning how to properly swing a hammer, lay a perfectly level brick wall, or understand the importance of every small detail, those lessons became the foundation of Brent's approach to the trade.

Today, Brent continues to lead Hudak Waterproofing with the same dedication that inspired the company more than 35 years ago.

Every project represents an opportunity to honor his father's legacy while continuing to raise the standard for quality craftsmanship throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania.
